I am an Ina, as my mother before me. I was told that in an old Norse dialect it is ALWAYS and the only other current meaning that was brought to me was Mother in Mailai. It was also mentioned as related to the Goddess Inana. We can trace it in the family back to the first Ina who was of Scottish and Dutch extraction and lived in America before the revolution in New Amsterdam.
