Geir or Geirr (alternative spelling) is a male name common in Iceland and Norway, rare in Sweden, and very rare in Denmark. It is an ancient Nordic name meaning "spear" or spear of God, as in the lightning bolt of Odin, and is one of the original Nordic runes
