I would ask for somebody to investigate everything I am about to say. It is my understanding from my family that my name was originally french. Then it became an old southern (old southeastern) name. My father who gave me my name was born in 1924 and his name was also Granville. My father was born in Franklin, North Carolina. Please investigate before putting up what I have said as a fact.
