Marlene is a German feminine given name. It is derived from Maria and Magdalene. People with this name include:
German, now also widely used in the English-speaking world: contracted form of Maria Magdalene (see Madeleine). Probably the first, and certainly the most famous, bearer of the name is Marlene Dietrich, born in 1902 as Maria Magdalene von Losch.
