Rania / Ghania (or in Arabic رانيا / غانية) is a female given name of Arabic origin.
According to his two spellings, the first name does not have the same meaning. Indeed, the two pronunciations of this name are very often confusing: it is necessary to distinguish the difference between "Rania" and "Ghania" which in French is pronounced in the same way, but in Arabic differs.
- First meaning: when in Arabic, the name Rania is written with the letter "ر" which corresponds to a rolled "r" (it is written in Arabic: رانيا), it then means "melodious". This name comes from "ElRina". Girls who were "melodious" in nature and sang all the time were called "Elraniat" (plural)
