Ryno is also a surname. My Ryno family settled in Salem, MA after coming down from Nova Scotia. My research suggests the Ryno surname stems from Liverpool, UK. When I was little my father always told us it was a Scotch name. Susan E Ryno

In South Africa, many Afrikaans people (who are of Dutch/Netherlands/German decent) give their sons this name. I have never known the meaning of the name, my Husband's name is Ryno (I dont know if his mother knew it had the same meaning or not, but he was named after his father, whose name is Ryan) and we have given our son the name Ryno as a second name. Our sons first name is Joshua, a name given propheticaly through a dream before we knew we were expecting, the name Joshua means the same as Jesus. I never knew the meaning of either of te names until now.I see big things ahead for our boy, having names which mean 'Savior/God is salvation' and 'Little King'.
