Yes it does mean Gift from God. My name is Theda Gallegos (married last name) My Father who is Irish and Swedish gave me this name because Theda Bara was his favorite actress :) He tried to name me Theda Bara but my mother through a fit lol So I got June for the middle name

I come from a German family, matriarchial, the first born girl of the first born girl is named Theda. Theda is Greek in it's origins an means 'Gift of the Gods'. Because of its pagan origins folks have attempted to change the meaning and have gotten of track.
