In Hindu mythology, Kunti, also called Prithah, is an Indian aristocrat, known for being the mother of the Pandavas. She was the single mother of Karna, the king of Anga. She married King Pandu of Jastinapur, with whom she fathered the Pandava brothers ('sons of Pandu') Iudistira, Bhima and Aryuna.

Kunti is not mentioned in the Rig-veda (the oldest text in India, from the middle of the second millennium BC.C.). The story of Kunti and the Pandavas first appeared in the Mahabharata (epic-religious text of the third century BC.C.).
