Laureline is a female given name formed by the juxtaposition of Laure and Line, diminutive of Adeline. Invented in 1967 by Jean-Claude Mézières and Pierre Christin for their comic strip entitled Les mauvais rêves, the inaugural story of the series Valérian, spatio-temporal agent of which Laureline is already the heroine, it is attributed and registered for the first time in the civil registry in 1968.
