I had an aunt named Lura who born around 1900. She had an older sister named Gertrude, a name that reached it's peak of popularity at the end of the 19th century. I would love to know a meaning for my Aunt Lura's name. She lived to be 90 and was a living library for all historical information related to the small rural town in southern Michigan near Battle Creek where she made her home.
