My given name is Sherald. I was born in 1964 in Ontario, Canada. My mother told me she made it up after friends had baby girls and used the names she so liked. I have met noone else with this name. Everyone calls me Sherry. Except my father when he was being stern. Lol. "Sherald Lee. Hang up your coat!" Nice to meet you

My legal given name is Sherald. It was given to me not by my family but by an elderly priest at Baptism; he did not approve of the name my parents had chosen so named me Sherald Elizabeth. His name was Gerald so maybe he was into rhyming. Anyway, 65 years ago Baptismal certificates and church records in general were pretty binding so I was stuck with this non-name. I have never met another and can find no history of this name except possibly as a surname.
